If you want to see a cultural center, you must go to Bluecoat. There are many options there for instance to join at philosophers meeting every month to discuss about the meaning of life or whatever, or to read a newspaper like "the independent" or "the guardian" as long as you enjoy yourself a cup of tea or their wonderings filter coffees.A couple of years ago when I visited for the first time, it was closed the premises but now you can stay indoor or outdoor, whether counting the clouds or counting the minutes till is going to be closed. Staff in the cafe are very nice and don't worry about your skill in english, they will understand you.
